The 2025 MTB season is heading for a thrilling finale. After the World Championships in Valais and the World Cup in Lenzerheide, there is another highlight of the season at national level: the final of the Škoda Swiss Bike Cup on 27/28 September in Gränichen (AG).

World Champion Keller with ambitions to win the overall standings
None other than the new XCC World Champion Alessandra Keller (Thömus Maxon) will be at the start. This season, she has already claimed victory at the Basel Bike Festival and the XCO Swiss Championships in Savognin – both part of the Škoda Swiss Bike Cup. In Gränichen, Keller is now battling for the overall title. Her toughest rival is Ramona Forchini (Bixs Performance Race Team), the current series leader and overall winner in 2019. Keller herself has already taken the crown in 2018 and 2020. With Emily Johnston from Canada (Scott-Sram), Giada Specia from Italy (KTM Factory MTB Team), and Isla Short from Scotland, the two Swiss riders will also face strong international competition in the fight for the day’s victory.
Fabio Püntener starts as the favorite for overall victory, Schätti grabs for the next exploit
Zurich native Luca Schätti (BIXS Performance Race Team) narrowly missed out on a World Championship medal at the home event in Crans-Montana, finishing just millimetres short in an impressive fourth place as the best Swiss rider. Within the Škoda Swiss Bike Cup, the 25-year-old has already secured several podium finishes this season. A victory in Gränichen could hand Schätti his first overall title in the Elite Men’s category – the most prestigious racing series in Switzerland.
However, it is Fabio Püntener from Uri who holds the best position to claim the overall title in Gränichen. With two victories and a runner-up finish in this year’s Škoda Swiss Bike Cup, he enters the season finale with a comfortable lead. A triumph here would mark Püntener’s first overall victory.
Open Situation in the Kids Categories
In Gränichen, the overall standings will be decided across 20 categories. Particularly exciting: according to the regulations, the final race cannot be used as a scratch result – meaning that every single point could prove decisive in the fight for the overall titles.
In the junior categories from U9 to U17, everything is still wide open. Not only are podium finishes on the line, but also the coveted tickets to the “Swiss Bike Cup Champions Camp.” The most successful riders of each age group will earn an invitation to this exclusive mountain bike camp in Lenzerheide.
More than 600 participants are expected in Gränichen, including many members of the host club RC Gränichen. Registration remains open until September 21, 2025, with no late entry fees.

Pfüderi race with like-a-bike and pedal bike on Sunday afternoon
In Gränichen, there is also the opportunity for the youngest to get a taste of racing this year. On Sunday, September 28 at 11:45 a.m., the “Pfüderi” race presented by Raiffeisen will take place. Children born in 2020 can participate with a like-a-bike or a pedal bike. It is not necessary to register in advance — it is carried out directly on site.

Jaison Kids Bikes impresses with fresh designs and a children's enduro bike
Jaison Kids Bikes presented several highlights at the World Championships in Crans-Montana. The new hardtail mountain bikes impress with fresh designs. The weight of the bikes is still unbeatable. The current Endgame Custom is available starting at 8.4 kg.
Particularly exciting: Full suspension models from Jaison were presented for the first time, which will be on the market in spring 2026. Test rides can already be arranged and pre-orders placed — a perfect time to secure the first generations of the Jaison Showtime.
Jaison's latest bikes can be tested in Gränichen on Saturday, September 27.
