Fabio Püntener Looks to Confirm Top Form
A strong contingent of Swiss World Cup riders will line up in the Elite Men’s field. All eyes will be on Fabio Püntener (Bike Team Solothurn), who recently impressed with an outstanding 8th-place finish at the World Cup in Araxá, Brazil. The rider from Uri will face stiff competition from the BIXS Performance Race Team, including Marcel Guerrini, Timon Rüegg, and Luca Schätti. Guerrini, a multiple World Cup podium finisher, is widely regarded as the top contender. Rüegg and Schätti have already proven their form this season, with Rüegg winning the muddy season opener of the Škoda Swiss Bike Cup in Monte Tamaro and Schätti claiming victory in Nals, Italy.
Ramona Forchini starts as favorite
Ramona Forchini enters the race as the clear favorite among the elite women. The Toggenburg native, now riding for the BIXS Performance Race Team, has had a strong start to the season. She placed fourth in a world-class field at Monte Tamaro and went on to win the HC race in Nals — her first Swiss Bike Cup victory since Gränichen in 2022. After a challenging winter marked by uncertainty, Forchini has made a remarkable comeback and proven she’s still a force to be reckoned with. Her main rival is Ginia Caluori (Nexetis) from Graubünden, who claimed second place in Schaan last year.
From lateral entry to Swiss cycling hope
Ginia Caluori made the leap from alpine sports to mountain biking in 2021, debuting in the Swiss Bike Cup in Leukerbad with the BRV Racing Team. Finishing 52nd, she quietly laid the foundation for what would become a promising career. Just one year later, she celebrated her first podium in Savognin — a breakthrough moment that marked her as one of Swiss cycling’s brightest young talents.
Her ultimate dream: to represent Switzerland at the Olympic Games — whether on the road or in cross-country mountain biking is still to be decided. Since 2025, Caluori has been riding for the newly established Nexetis team, showcasing her versatility and strength in both disciplines.
